Structural Civil Engineer and Master of Science in Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
His research is mainly focused on the seismic hazard, risk and resilience assessment of buildings and critical infrastructure using probabilistic methods. He has developed seismic recurrence models and studied evacuation processes in buildings and cities due to earthquakes and tsunamis using agent-based models. His current research consists of evaluating seismic risk in spatially distributed networks. He also has experience in the industry and as a consultant in seismic hazard studies and seismic risk assessment.
His research topics are Seismic Engineering, Evacuation Models, Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment and Seismic Resilience.
