Alondra Chamorro

Alondra Chamorro is a Civil Engineer and Master in Engineering Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He holds a PhD of Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. His areas of expertise include road engineering, infrastructure management and infrastructure management in the face of natural events. He has participated in research projects of the World Bank, Ministry of Transportation of Ontario Canada, R&D of Fondef, Fondef Idea, Fondef VIU, Fondecyt Initiation, technological innovation of Corfo, among others.

She is currently director of a Fondef Idea project for the development of models for risk quantification and mitigation of natural events affecting the national road network. She is also director of the Fondecyt Initiation project for the development of low-traffic road behavior models. She is a sponsoring professor of a Fondef VIU project for the implementation of an urban pavement management system developed in a Fondef R&D where she was an alternate director and principal investigator.

She has published in several referenced journals, is co-author of World Bank technical publications on road infrastructure assessment technologies and co-author of a publication prepared for the World Road Association (PIARC) on accessibility on rural roads.
