Dean of the School of Engineering of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. PhD, The University of California, PhD of Philosophy, The University of California. Master of Science, The University of California, Civil Engineer, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Expert in structural modeling, structural dynamics, vibration reduction systems and risk.
His research areas include topics such as semi-active vibration control in structures and modeling problems with large deformations. In 2003 he received the John Munro international distinction from Engineering Structures magazine and the ramón Salas Edwards national award from the Institute of Engineers of Chile.
