L1. Solid Earth Processes and Associated Hazards

This line of research is focused on understanding natural hazards generated by the country’s geological
conditions: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides. The aim is to anticipate their impact on
Chile’s population and constructions. This line also seeks to monitor these threats in order to develop an
effective early warning system.
